Description

Over three hours, I’ll step you through some simple handbuilding techniques to create some great pottery pieces to take home, such as platters, plates, mugs, oil burners and vases. We’ll also break briefly for a delicious morning/afternoon tea.

This workshop is perfect for beginners, and is an ideal introduction to experimenting with clay and different handbuilding techniques. You’ll be shown the basic techniques of pinching and slab building, as well as decorative approaches like impressing, or attaching handles or spouts. You’ll then have time to practise these skills by making your own pieces. After the workshop, I will glaze and fire your pieces and they will be ready for collection from the studio four weeks after the workshop, or I can post to you (postage fee not included).

Workshop class sizes are capped at two people, making for a fun and engaging class. Make a day of it with a friend and grab a meal in beautiful Kyneton and explore the town.

Level: Beginner

Take home: Around two to four of your favourite pieces.

Session times: Current available session times are listed in the booking calendar. Email me at cassandrajhansen@gmail.com if you have any questions about booking times.

Price: $180 per person for a three-hour class, which includes access to clay, tools, aprons, glazing and firing. Light morning/afternoon tea will be supplied. You will also receive a copy of my very own ‘The Kyneton Guide’ with all my recommendations of where to eat, drink and play during your visit.

Gift vouchers: Gift voucher holders can use their voucher on any sessions available now or in the future. Gift voucher holders are the first to be emailed about new workshop dates so they have the first chance to book in.

Cancellation policy: We kindly ask that if you need to cancel, you give at least 48 hours before your scheduled workshop. This gives me the opportunity to fill the class. If you have to cancel your class, we offer you a credit for a future workshop if you cancel before the 48 hours, but do not offer refunds. However, if you do not cancel prior to the 48 hours, you will lose the payment for the class.

Dis-clay-mer: Please note, the ceramics process is unpredictable! I’ll do all I can to ensure your pieces survive the firing, but I am not responsible for any firing loss. Thanks for your understanding.
